The concept for this two-and-a-half-foot disco ball, ingeniously crafted from a digital scan of my own head, emerged from the fascinating ability of a disco ball to make those beneath its reflections feel like stars. By incorporating an enlarged head into the design, I sought to explore themes of celebration and revolt.

As viewers gaze upon the suspended form, they are simultaneously engaged in a celebratory act of reverence and confronted by their own reflections in the numerous tiny mirrors adorning its surface. This duality fosters a collective celebration of self, while also drawing attention to the power dynamics at play — the hanging head evoking a sense of discomfort and disrespect, as if compelled to entertain the public against its will.
